National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter M. Carlson to our Board of Trustees. Carlson joins our board with three decades of experience at Fortune 50 financial service institutions.
“Pete has had a long and successful career in leadership at large financial services companies, and this will be invaluable to NPT,” says Holly Welch Stubbing, President and CEO of NPT. “His perspective will strengthen how we innovate, operationalize, and serve donors in an ever-evolving philanthropic landscape.”
Carlson most recently served as CEO and board member for Spectral AI, Inc. (MDAI), a late-stage medical device company. He also served as CFO of MiMedx Group, Inc. (MDXG) and, earlier in his career, held senior roles including Chief Accounting Officer at MetLife, Inc., Controller at Wachovia Corporation, and partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. Carlson now serves on the boards of White Mountains Insurance Group (NYSE: WTM) and Citizens, Inc. (NYSE: CIA), and is a trustee for Wake Forest University.
“Serving on the National Philanthropic Trust’s board is an opportunity to help strengthen an institution that empowers generosity nationwide,” says Carlson. “My career as a financial leader and executive for organizations that are all about helping people has taught me the importance of trust and transparency – values that are central to NPT’s mission and work. I’m looking forward to working with Holly and the management team.”
Carlson is a resident of Johns Island, South Carolina, and earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University; he is a licensed CPA.
