One Million Grants, Unquantifiable Impact

Author Holly Welch Stubbing, President and CEO

NPT’s fundamental mission is to connect donors to nonprofit organizations and to improve the lives of people everywhere. It’s that simple. It’s who we are, and we are doing it at a greater scale than ever before.

That’s why I’m so proud to announce an important milestone in NPT’s history – our one millionth grant.

This represents three decades of partnership with donors whose philanthropy makes a meaningful difference. Since our founding in 1996, and together with our donors and often, their wealth advisors, we have distributed more than $44 billion dollars to nonprofit organizations nationwide and around the world.

We’re especially proud that this grant supports All Our Kin, an organization based in Connecticut that transforms the childcare system and strengthens communities by expanding access to high-quality care. The organization provides critical programming to approximately 1,100 family childcare educators in New York and Connecticut, reaching over 6,000 children.

Our one millionth grant also reflects the central role donor-advised funds play in organized philanthropy – addressing economic opportunity, education, and community stability. Think about all the organizations – and the people – who have benefitted from our donors’ million grants. They are educators like All Our Kin. They are children’s hospitals that have received medical equipment. They are people who have received relief from natural disasters. They are orphanages in Uganda. They are programs to preserve and protect the environment. They are performing and visual arts organizations. The list goes on, and thankfully, gets longer every day.

As we continue forward with our mission, we honor the steadfast work of our nonprofit partners, and the amazing generosity of our donors, who have created a legacy of impact. Now, it’s on to one million more grants!
