Holly Welch Stubbing is a nationally-recognized leader in endowments, philanthropy, and social enterprise with more than 30 years of experience and thought leadership in charitable giving, grantmaking and wealth management. Holly joined National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in 2024 after serving as president and CEO of E4E Relief, a national social enterprise offering emergency financial relief programs to global companies and communities. Prior to leading E4E Relief, she worked for Foundation for the Carolinas, where she served as Executive Vice President and In-House Counsel leading advancement, investments, philanthropic services and legal affairs. Together with the team, she grew the organization from $180 million to nearly $4 billion in charitable assets over 20 years making FFTC #5 in the nation in terms of grantmaking among community foundations.
Holly serves on the Oakworth Capital Bank Charlotte Market Board and as a Trustee for the Seymour Legacy Trust which holds the interests in Primax Properties. She currently is the Chair of NPT’s UK dual-qualified charity, NPT Transatlantic and serves on the Board for NPT UK. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards, currently serving on the Advancement Committee for Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, PA. She has had several prior leadership trustee roles in Charlotte including Chair for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Foundation and Trustee and Head of the Search Committee for Trinity Episcopal School. She was the Co-Lead for the Nonprofit Certificate program at Wake Forest University’s Continuing Studies Program.
Holly is an American Marshall Memorial Fellow of the German Marshall Fund and received the Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business award and 40 Under 40 distinctions. Holly was named one of the Mecklenburg Times’ 50 Most Influential Women in Charlotte and recognized as the Charlotte Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Fundraiser of the Year.
She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in communications and international studies from Wake Forest University. She is a member of the North Carolina and Tennessee Bar Associations. Holly is married to Matt Stubbing and has two children.
