Departments at NPT
Accounting and Finance
Finance is responsible for producing financial statements based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and NPT’s policies and procedures ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Development
The Development department directs NPT’s fundraising and business development initiatives; responsible for the strategic planning, marketing, and execution of these functional areas; manages the processing of illiquid, complex, and major gifts; identifies, cultivates, and develops relationships with financial advisors, bankers, legal and tax professionals in understanding NPT’s philanthropic services leading to the creation of new donor-advised fund accounts, and ongoing contributions to existing DAF accounts.

Donor Administration
The Donor Administration team within National Philanthropic Trust’s (“NPT”) Operations Department is responsible for establishing donor accounts, ensuring donations are properly matched and recorded, the external acknowledgement of such donations, and other such tasks that are required to ensure donor satisfaction in our Donor Advised Funds (“DAF”) and Supporting Organizations (“SO”).

Donor Relations
The Donor Relations Department is the public facing service team for NPT, answering calls and emails from donors, advisors, and charitable organizations, among others. Donor Relations provides service inquiry resolutions, website help, and account management assistance, in addition to providing high-level support to the internal depts.

Grants
The Grants Department is responsible for completing the due diligence on all grants (domestic and international) recommended by Donors and for ensuring compliance with NPT’s and the IRS’s requirements. The Department is also responsible for the payment processing of all approved grants for National Philanthropic Trust (NPT).

The IT Department is responsible for ensuring the technical support of NPT’s software applications and the cyber security of NPT’s data and facilities. The objective of the IT department is the creation and maintenance of a technology environment that improves processes, data security, internal controls, and service delivery such that NPT continues to be a leader in the donor advised fund industry. NPT’s software solutions are generally third-party systems; NPT does not currently develop software for use by donors. The department’s activities encompass a wide range of functions.

The Communications Department is responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving an integrated system of messages, policies, materials, and programs that publicize and support both NPT’s mission and the mission of NPT’s partners and affiliates.
